Yahtzee! We Remain One of the Best Places to Work in Maine

We win. Again.

For the second year in a row, TrueLine Publishing has been voted onto the list of Maine’s Best Places to Work.

Even better, it was our employees who were the judges. After we entered the competition, they bestowed upon us this recognition by responding to an extensive survey that evaluates everything from how fairly we pay them to how well our managers listen and act on employee input.

We don’t know how high-up on the list we are or what areas we did best in; that won’t be disclosed to us until September, fingers tapping.

But as the cleanliness of our community kitchen isn’t taken into account, we anticipate doing just fine.

The 2017 Maine’s Best Places to Work list is made up of 80 companies in three size categories, with TrueLine falling into the smallest company size. Most of our 30 or so employees hail from Portland, Maine, or thereabouts. One works in the nation’s capital; and at least two freelancers have decided to drive cross-county, so their location is wherever their cars break down.

Humor aside….

A positive, inclusive work culture is paramount at TrueLine, and this recognition is just a formality.

Or, as our charismatic CEO Haj Carr says, “It’s a testament to every staff member living up to our company mission. Our TrueLine community thrives on intellectual curiosity, a passion for life, critical thinking and above all else—FUN!”

Wise words from someone who spends all free time dancing and teaching salsa.

We’re honored to be named one of Maine’s Best Places to Work because it highlights all of the efforts that our staff puts in on a daily basis to live joyfully and be positive. – Haj Carr

Though he would also point out that TrueLine has redoubled its efforts to be great. The past year, we launched three new publications: Vision, Blueprint and Terra Firma. We rebranded one publication, América Latina Business Executive, to Vanguard Latin America. We launched a sister business, TrueLine Public Relations.

All of which was made possible by re-imagined writing and production departments, greater emphasis on transparency with our clients, and much effort to recognize the talents of our employees and promote them accordingly.

Our team will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 10 and will be profiled in a special publication by Mainebiz. The final rankings will be announced at the event.

We plan on celebrating much earlier, though, doing so this weekend on our annual rafting and glamping trip.
