Increasing Sales by Understanding Your Customer: TrueLine Founder, Haj Carr, to Host Workshop at Maine Startup & Create Week 2016

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Maine Startup & Create Week is a weeklong event in Portland, Maine, which connects entrepreneurs and showcases the vibrant business community and startup potential in the Pine Tree State. We’re excited to announce TrueLine Publishing founder and CEO, Haj Carr, will be sharing his entrepreneurial insight in a Lightning Learning Lab.

The annual gathering celebrates innovators and entrepreneurs, offering more than 50 sessions, workshops and panel discussions. Maine Startup & Create Week is targeted at small business owners and people in the public or private sector who work in, work for, or aspire to work with companies that are high-value and striving for further growth.

The 2016 lineup of events includes a special focus on content and speakers that will inspire small business owners to take risks, move products from test to production, connect with customers’ needs and challenge entrepreneurs and intrepreneurs to scale fast and think big. There are six keynote speakers, including a roboticist, an incubator founder and the Forbes Media president — two of which have strong ties to Maine.

Lightning Workshop

Maine Startup & Create Week offers an array of workshops and presentations — everything from understanding social media ROI to acquiring new talent and building multigenerational teams; writing effective marketing copy to tips for effective product design and continuous innovation.

One of the main themes is learning how to better serve customers. Catering to this topic, Haj Carr’s presentation will help business owners and entrepreneurs fully understand the problems they are trying to solve and the needs of their target market — critical to startup success.

The workshop is focused on teaching business owners how to understand and sync with the needs of their clients to discern how to best serve them, creating a win-win for all parties involved. “Know your client, serve their needs first and then tell them how you profit from them. Transparency equals trust and allows for the cultivation of a life-long partnership,” says Carr.

The “Increasing Sales by Understanding Your Customer” Lightning Learning Lab is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22, from 11am to 12pm at the Maine College of Art(MECA).
