For the second year in a row, TrueLine Publishing has participated in the United Way of Greater Portland’s (UWGP) Give It Forward, Get it Back campaign, which encourages people and organizations to come together to make measurable progress in strengthening our community through volunteer and monetary donations.

This year, TLP employees stepped up to donate an astonishing $4,015.84 and CEO, Haj Carr, has again committed to doubling all contributions — bringing the company total to $8,031.68. The John T. Gorman Foundation is also doubling donation dollars with a matching grant.

Between all contributions and matches TLP raised over $16,000 for United Way of Greater Portland — almost 3 times the amount we raised in 2015!

Just through TLP employee donations alone, we raised enough money to provide 6 families experiencing divorce with professional help to support and develop healthy co-parenting relationships and provide children with group counseling, to help one adolescent with substance abuse treatment and to provide crisis response services to 5 schools. Imagine what the remaining $12,000 can do!

As the United Way says, “Great things happen when companies LIVE UNITED.” In fact, 93% of consumers are more loyal to companies that are socially responsible. And when companies give, advocate, and volunteer, Greater Portland becomes a better place to live, work, and do business.
